Antonio might need a checkdown receiver in case none of the deep receivers get open. So you run a simple slant route over the middle of the field. You put your arms up as defenders break through the line.

Antonio has nowhere to go. Half a second before two pass rushers bury him in a bone-crunching tackle, he flings the ball to you. You snatch it out of the air and turn to run. You pick up ten… twenty… thirty yards. But then you hit a wave of defenders.

You realize your mistake. You can’t make it to the end zone, and time is running out. You try to weave through the wall of defenders, but you have no chance. They all tackle you, bringing you to the ground as time runs out.

The players on Alabama’s sideline rush onto the field to celebrate their national title. All you can do is lay on the ground, clutching the ball, wondering how the game got away from you.
